Case Studies
Redesigning a complex B2B platform to reduce support burden and improve user flow
Role: Lead Product Designer, working with Eng, Product, Support, Marketing
Opportunity: Legacy UI created confusion; users couldn’t find SDS info; platform overloaded with design debt
Process:
• Ran qualitative interviews with customer reps and end users
• Conducted feature heatmap analysis and internal task friction audit
• Led 3+ cross-functional workshops (IA + Jobs To Be Done + Customer Research)
• Created revised information architecture, dashboard flows, wireframes
• Developed internal design system to speed dev and QA alignment
Outcome: While final release was postponed, my research directly informed quarterly planning and re-prioritization by leadership. Customer support estimates projected a 30% reduction in ticket volume from IA redesign alone.
Reflection: When business priorities change, the UX still adds value—through strategic clarity. In this case, design influenced budget allocation and clarified scope org-wide.
Designing a connected experience across three products in the chemical supply chain
Role: Lead Product Designer, owner of cross-product UX consistency
Opportunity: Exchange users had to navigate Protect, News, and Exchange separately; duplicative actions, broken touchpoints
Process:
• Performed UX audits across all 3 tools
• Identified friction zones + duplicate flows
• Partnered with engineering, solution engineers, and product to implement shared components
• Created touchpoint journey maps and interaction models
• Led a stakeholder alignment session cadence across PM, CS, and Sales
Outcome: Created a scalable UX system that reduced user errors and made product transitions seamless. Internal team adopted shared component system and prioritized unified dashboards for roadmap.
Reflection: “Connecting dots” isn’t abstract—it’s workflow architecture. This project honed my ability to think across products and ensure design scales coherently.
Designing for Scale – Building the 3E Component System
Role: Co-creator of internal design system; responsible for component hierarchy, Figma documentation, and dev collaboration
Opportunity:
The 3E platform was plagued by inconsistency: buttons varied across flows, typography lacked structure, and engineers rebuilt the same UI patterns repeatedly.
I was tasked with helping build a scalable design system that streamlined workflows, improved accessibility, and aligned the org’s visual language.
Process:
-
Conducted an audit of existing UI components across 3E Protect, Exchange, and News
-
Collaborated with engineering to identify dev-ready tokens and spacing rules
-
Created Figma libraries for:
• Buttons (4 states + accessibility)
• Form inputs with validation states
• Typography hierarchy
• Cards, banners, tabs, modals -
Defined usage documentation + visual specs
-
Co-led handoff meetings with devs and QA
-
Developed a feedback loop for component requests and versioning
Outcome:
-
Reduced design-to-dev cycle time by ~30%
-
Increased internal adoption across 3 departments
-
Enabled new team members to onboard to the product UI 2x faster
-
Created a shared language between design, engineering, and QA
Reflection: Design systems aren’t just about consistency—they’re about trust, speed, and scale. At 3E, our system helped multiple teams align without micromanaging UI. That’s the kind of infrastructure that lets creativity thrive within constraints.
Creating a conversion-focused web experience for tattoo artists and their clients
Role: Solo UX/UI Designer
Opportunity: Users couldn’t find artist portfolios or book easily; business lost bookings daily
Process:
• Ran short-form surveys with customers
• Analyzed competitor booking flows
• Designed new homepage hierarchy focused on artist-first navigation
• Embedded booking widget and redesigned service pages
• Added mobile-first interaction improvements
Outcome: Booking rates increased within 2 weeks of launch. Owner reported 40% increase in conversion from mobile devices.
Reflection: “Connecting dots” isn’t abstract—it’s workflow architecture. This project honed my ability to think across products and ensure design scales coherently.
